Add expandable supporting details to a slide

Create an accordion, arrange its sections and check its saved behavior in a presentation preview.

Before you start

Open a saved CLM presentation in Edit with permission to change it and select the slide. Finish or resolve any pending slide edit. Add the project media or registered source material you want to reference before choosing it in a section.

Add and review project sources

Create and arrange sections

  1. Open Components and choose Add blank accordion. Select the new accordion on the slide or in Layers, then choose Edit component.
  2. In Content, enter an Accordion title. For each section, enter its Heading and Body. Select words in the body and use Bold or Italic; Clear removes formatting from the selected text.
  3. Use Add section to add another section. Select section, Move section up, Move section down, Duplicate section and Delete section work on the indicated section. Check the resulting order and headings on the slide.
  4. Optionally choose project Media and enter its Media description. Under Linked material, select the registered sources for that section. Inspect a source in Studio when you need to review it.

Set the initial behavior and style

  1. In the accordion Behavior controls, choose One at a time or Multiple at a time under Open sections.
  2. Choose the sections that are initially open, or select Start all collapsed. In One at a time mode, selecting an initial section replaces the previous one.
  3. In Style, choose Spacing and Section separators. Set an Active section color with an opaque six-digit hex value, or choose Use inherited section color to return to the object's inherited color.

Try the interaction and save it

  1. In Edit component, select each section to inspect its content. Choose Try interaction, then activate the section headings to expand and collapse them. Try both the selected opening mode and the intended initial state.
  2. Use Reset to return the trial to the saved draft defaults. Trying a section does not change those defaults. If the open sections are the defaults you want, choose Use current as default, then return to Edit component.
  3. Choose Save interaction and wait for Interaction saved. Rebuild the preview to apply it. Reopen the saved accordion and check its section order, content, style and initial state. Use Undo or Redo while editing when you need to reverse or restore an accordion change.

Review the saved presentation

  1. Open Builder, then Saved version & build options. Rebuild the saved revision and wait for its confirmed result. If a build request is already retained, use Check saved build before starting another.
  2. Open the saved preview for that revision. Check every heading, body, media description and linked source reference. Expand and collapse the sections and check the opening mode and defaults. In the compiled preview, Reset sections returns the open sections to the saved defaults.
  3. Use Tab to reach a heading, Enter or Space to activate it, and the arrow keys, Home or End to move between headings. The heading names the control and exposes whether it is expanded. You can also activate it with a pointer or touch.
  4. Review the slide at the intended size. Scroll within the accordion when needed so longer content and controls remain reachable. Check the declared output; where it uses a readable fallback, confirm that the section headings and content are presented.

Check the result

  • Reopening the saved revision retains the authored section order, wording, media and source references, appearance and initial open state.
  • The intended sections open and close without hiding their content or trapping focus. The output shows the same supporting details or a readable fallback.

Recover and continue

  • If Add blank accordion is unavailable, select an available slide and finish pending edits. Review the compatibility message before continuing.
  • If media or linked material is unavailable, replace or remove the unavailable reference before saving. Check that the project contains the intended asset or source.
  • If the interaction save is not confirmed, use Check saved interaction to reconcile the retained edit before making another change. For a conflict, review the latest saved interaction and the offered recovery controls.
  • If the preview shows an older version, rebuild the current saved revision. Refresh saved preview if its access expires; this does not require another build.
