Add or replace an image#

  1. Open Edit and select the destination slide.
  2. Choose Image in the toolbar or Add image in Properties. For an existing image, choose Replace image.
  3. Select a PNG, JPEG or WebP file.
  4. Enter useful Alternative text and inspect the local preview.
  5. Choose Upload image, follow the processing status, and complete the placement or attachment action offered by the panel.

A local preview is not a saved image placement. Wait for the project change to be confirmed.

Create a pixel crop#

Select the image and choose Crop image, then Pixel crop. Move or resize the crop area visually, or use its source-pixel fields. Arrow keys adjust one source pixel; Shift adjusts ten.

Choose Create cropped image. When processing finishes, explicitly apply the crop with the action shown by the panel. The original is retained. If processing is uncertain, choose Check crop before retrying.

Adjust the frame instead#

The crop panel also provides composition controls for the existing image frame. Use these when you want to change fitting, focal position, opacity or a supported mask without creating a new pixel crop.

Inspect the preview carefully around faces, labels and scientific details. A frame crop can hide meaningful content even though the underlying image remains intact.

Check image quality and meaning#

After saving, reopen the slide and check sharpness, crop and alignment. Review alternative text again when a replacement or crop changes the image’s meaning.

If the upload is unconfirmed, use its status and retry controls. Avoid selecting repeated replacement files while the original request is still being reconciled.
