Project settings and context

Set presentation context and understand the separate workspace context badge.

Open Project settings#

In a saved CLM project, choose Project settings in the toolbar. The panel contains Presentation context. Use Close settings, select the disclosure again, or press Escape to close it.

On a narrow Edit layout, Presentation context can be a second disclosure inside the panel. Open it to reach the same fields. A member without edit permission can inspect the saved context but cannot change it.

Set brand, market and presentation preferences#

  1. Open Presentation context. If saved values are shown, choose Edit context.
  2. Enter Brand and Market or region.
  3. Add Audience, Language, Duration and Desired channel when useful.
  4. Read any notice about selected restricted sources.
  5. Choose Save context and wait for Presentation context saved.

Context helps source and generation work use the intended presentation scope. It does not grant access to a brand or market; membership scope is managed under Access.

Review sources when brand or market changes#

When a change affects restricted sources, Studio asks you to confirm Clear selected restricted source bindings from this revision. Earlier revisions remain in history. After saving, review and reselect the appropriate sources for the new context.

If a Builder request was retained while context was missing, choose Continue draft after saving. This prepares the draft for review; nothing is sent until you choose the send action.

Understand “Context not configured” in the header#

The header badge beside the workspace identity describes the workspace context: Demo, Sandbox, Production or Context not configured. It is separate from the Brand and Market stored in Presentation context.

Open the account menu and review the current workspace and its context label. Select the intended workspace if a different one is listed. If the right workspace still says Context not configured, ask its administrator or CLM Studio support to review that workspace’s classification. Saving a project’s Brand and Market does not change this badge.

Confirm or retry a context save#

Reopen Project settings to check the saved values. If Studio cannot confirm the update, use Retry context save when offered, or refresh the project and inspect the current context before making a new change.

Complete or cancel an active edit before switching to another toolbar task if Studio has disabled navigation while saving.
