Personalization setup
Define reusable fields, specialty choices and fictional samples for a personalized presentation.
Open the presentation’s setup#
Open a saved CLM presentation, then choose Personalization setup beside Sample preview. The panel shows the saved revision and whether its configuration is saved, unsaved or awaiting confirmation.
Personalization setup declares the fields the presentation can use. The text inspector applies those fields to a particular text object; Sample preview lets you inspect the result with fictional profiles. Finish any current editor or generation change before configuring another part of the project.
Declare the fields you want to use#
- Under Semantic aliases, choose Add semantic alias.
- Give the alias a unique, recognizable ID, such as
hcp_full_name. - Choose its role: Title, Full name, Configured short name, Practice name or Specialty.
- Add a separate alias for each additional value the presentation needs. Keep IDs distinct.
For example, a full-name alias and a title alias can support a salutation that combines both values. A configured short name is its own field; provide it explicitly rather than assuming a full name will be shortened correctly.
These are presentation-level semantic names. Declaring them does not connect the presentation to live CRM records or grant permission to read a field.
Set up a specialty source#
- Add an alias with the Specialty role.
- Under Specialty allowlists, choose Add specialty source.
- Enter its source label and select the specialty alias.
- Choose Add source 1 value for the first source; the number follows the source you are editing. Enter a stable code and a readable label for every allowed specialty.
- Save the configuration, then open Paths to use the source in a Starting path specialty rule.
Paths can match an allowed specialty to a route. Its Default path handles missing, denied, unknown and unmatched values. Review that generic route as carefully as the personalized route.
Create fictional profiles for review#
Under Fictional preview catalogue, choose Add fictional sample. Give the sample a useful label and description, then choose Fictional doctor or No doctor / generic content.
For a fictional doctor, set each field’s availability to Missing, Available fictional value or Denied. When you select an available value, enter the corresponding invented title, name, practice or specialty. Include a long name and at least one missing or denied value so you can test wrapping and fallback behavior.
The catalogue is saved with the presentation. It contains author-created samples; live context values are not copied into it.
Save and confirm the configuration#
Choose Save configuration and wait for Personalization configuration saved. Use Cancel configuration changes to return to the saved setup before submitting a change.
If the save is unconfirmed, use Check saved configuration. Use Retry original configuration request only when the panel offers it. If the saved revision changes, choose Reload current configuration and review the updated setup before saving again.
Use a configured field in text#
- Open Edit and select a supported editable text object.
- In Personalize this text, turn on Use a personalized field.
- Choose the Source, Field and Format. Fields can include Doctor display name, Short salutation, Practice name and Specialty, according to the saved aliases.
- Where shown, use Before field and After field for the spaces or punctuation that should appear with an available value.
- Enter a local Sample value and inspect both Sample preview and When unavailable.
- Choose Apply field and confirm the saved text change.
When unavailable is the ordinary authored text used when the field cannot resolve. Local sample values are for preview and are not saved with the text binding. To return to literal content, use Remove personalized field or Remove field and keep literal text, as shown.
Next, use Sample preview to inspect the presentation across profiles, slides and routes.
