Inspect history and restore a revision

Review saved changes and recover earlier work without erasing history.

Open saved history#

Choose Undo / history in the project. The panel identifies the current revision and lists recent saved revisions. Use Refresh history if you need an updated view.

Local Undo and saved history solve different problems. Use the current editor’s Undo while working on a local edit; use revision restore when you want an earlier saved project state.

Compare two saved revisions#

Open Compare saved revisions. Select the earlier revision under From and the later revision under To, then choose Compare.

Use Change type to focus the result or choose All fields. Turn on Show unchanged when you need the surrounding context. Review the actual saved states before deciding which revision to restore.

Inspect what changed#

  1. Find the revision you want to understand.
  2. Choose Show changes.
  3. Review added, removed or changed elements and any chart value differences.
  4. Use the comparison tools available in the history panel to understand the candidate restore.

Check the revision identity before acting. A familiar project name does not establish that the displayed comparison is the current saved version.

Restore deliberately#

Choose Restore revision for the earlier revision, review the restore details, then use the confirmation action shown by the review. Studio creates a new saved revision containing the restored state; it preserves the earlier history.

Wait for confirmation and reopen the project. If the restore outcome is uncertain, use Retry previous restore to reconcile the retained operation instead of initiating a different restore.

Check what needs rebuilding#

A restored revision may differ from the source used by a previously selected build or export. Check preview and delivery revision labels before reusing them.

If browser storage is unavailable, restore can be blocked because Studio needs to retain the request safely. Restore browser storage access and check the existing operation before starting again.
