Sample preview

Test names, fallbacks and discussion paths with fictional profiles without changing the saved presentation.

Start a sample preview#

Open a saved CLM presentation and choose Sample preview. The Preview with sample doctors panel opens, and the toolbar action becomes Exit samples.

Save or confirm active edits first. A pending save, unresolved request or unsaved editor change can prevent a new sample preview from starting. Use Personalization setup first when the presentation needs reusable aliases or a custom fictional sample catalogue.

Choosing a sample changes preview context only. It does not replace the saved slide wording with a person’s name or write a selected doctor into the presentation.

Choose profiles that expose useful differences#

Under Select a sample doctor, choose a fictional profile. When the presentation has its own saved catalogue, those samples are shown. Otherwise Studio supplies these starting cases:

SampleWhat to inspect
Sample doctorBasic fictional name, title, practice and specialty values.
Long nameCompound names, explicit short forms, line breaks and available space.
Missing nameA practice-only profile and the fallback used when name fields are absent.
No doctor selectedThe generic presentation without a selected person.

Switch between samples on the same slide to spot unexpected punctuation, empty gaps or a practice name that should be hidden when unavailable. Add a custom denied-field sample in Personalization setup when your review needs that case.

Read the personalization summary#

Turn on Highlight personalized fields to locate the affected content. The Personalization preview summary separates three questions:

  • Text values: how many evaluated bindings use sample values and how many use their fallback.
  • Practice name: whether a configured practice slot is shown, hidden or not used in the evaluated text.
  • Discussion path: the selected or default route for the current sample context.

Not evaluated is not a successful check. It means that the corresponding text, field or route has not been evaluated for this exact preview. Review the setup and the current saved revision before drawing a conclusion.

Inspect slides and the starting route#

Use the Slide selector in Saved presentation review to move through the saved presentation. Check greetings, practice text, long names and generic wording on every relevant slide.

For specialty-based routing, configure allowed values in Personalization setup, then define the Starting path in Paths. The first matching permitted specialty rule selects the starting route; the default covers missing, denied and unmatched values. Later explicit topic and depth choices remain part of the discussion.

Choose a sample with a matching specialty, then a sample without one. Compare the Discussion path summary and follow the route itself. A route label alone does not demonstrate that every slide, shortcut and return works as intended.

Check the compiled preview and capture a sample#

A compiled preview must belong to the current saved revision and support personalization. While the sample is being applied, Studio shows a progress message. Compiled preview · current synthetic context confirms that the current sample context was rendered in that compiled preview.

If the build does not support the context, build the saved revision using the available controls. If applying a sample fails, use the offered saved-preview refresh and inspect the status again.

Where Capture current sample is available, first save the declared fictional sample catalogue and build the current saved revision. Then choose the action and review the reported outcome. A captured synthetic review documents that sample and build; it does not establish behavior with live CRM records.

Return to ordinary authoring#

Choose Exit samples to leave sample mode. Reopen or save the current presentation before repeating a review after a revision change. If a previously selected sample is no longer configured, choose another valid sample rather than relying on its earlier values.

Sample preview is a browser authoring aid. Validate real field permissions, selected-person context, offline behavior and playback separately in the intended CRM client and device.
